How to make a printable invoice
- Add the sender, recipient, invoice number and dates.
- Enter one charge per line with a positive quantity and non-negative unit price.
- Set your own discount and tax percentages, then create and review the totals.
- Print the invoice or save the versioned JSON source so you can edit it later.
How totals are calculated
The tool rounds every line amount to two decimal places before summing. It then rounds the discount, subtracts it, calculates and rounds tax on the discounted taxable amount, and adds the tax. Currency is only a display choice; no exchange rate is applied.
Worked example
Three hours at 19.995 become a rounded line amount of 59.99. With a 10% discount and 8.25% tax, the discount is 6.00, taxable amount 53.99, tax 4.45 and total 58.44.
Limits and checks
- Up to 80 line items. Quantity must be greater than zero; price cannot be negative; discount and tax must be 0–100.
- JSON includes all editable text, dates, currency, rates and items. It contains no account data beyond what you type.
- Printing uses the browser dialog and may span several pages. Review paper size, margins and browser headers before final use.
- No automatic tax rate, currency conversion, payments, customer database, email delivery or legal compliance certification.

No. It changes labels and number formatting only. Enter values already expressed in that currency.
Can I edit the invoice later?
Yes. Save the source JSON and load that version 1 file later.
