About extracting pictures from PDFs

Pictures, not page screenshots

This tool extracts raster pictures painted in the PDF’s page content, including common JPEG and Flate images. A scanned page may be a single large picture. Text and vector shapes are not converted into pictures. Unused embedded resources, attachments and annotation icons are outside the extraction scope.

What the saved PNG contains

Pictures keep their decoded pixel dimensions. Common color spaces are converted to RGB and an image’s own transparency mask is preserved. PNG is a lossless container for these decoded pixels, not a copy of the original JPEG file. Page rotation, cropping, drawing colors, page-level transparency and overlaid text are not applied. Stencil images are reported as skipped. Identical decoded pictures are grouped, with page numbers and use counts shown.

Select and save

All extracted pictures start selected. Uncheck any you do not need and save the selection as a ZIP, or save a single PNG from its card. The checkerboard preview indicates transparency and is not included in the saved image. Cancel stops processing; choosing a different file or clearing removes previous results. Nothing is sent to an upload server, and PDF data is not kept as a saved draft. Large or damaged PDFs can fail or give an explicitly marked partial result.
